At Norden High School & Sports College we are committed to providing pupils with the knowledge, skills and qualifications that will support them in their future life and career.
Academic success is essential for progressing onto further education and employment. However, a wide range of other 'Life Skills' are important to survive in today's multi-cultural, sophisticated, and technologically advanced, global world.

Our Secondary SEAL program aims to develop and enhance pupils’ social and emotional skills for learning. Our whole-school SUMO program aims to promote key life skills which can be transferred to other aspects of life outside school.
Educators, psychologists and other academics have pointed out that social and emotional aspects of learning, develops the ‘whole child’ and enhances academic achievement in the long term.
Supporters of SEAL have said that students who feel good about themselves and have positive relationships with others, are more emotionally engaged and tend to be more successful in school and later life.
