Vision & Aims

Vision

Please note that AfL refers to Assessment for Learning strategies and APP means assessing student performance.

The diagram above outlines what we are seeking to achieve as a school.

The central area (marked YOU) represents individuals associated with the school.

The five areas in the middle (blue) circle represent the key elements of the Every Child Matters agenda, that individuals should:

Be safe;

Be healthy;

Enjoy and achieve through learning;

Develop economic well-being;

Be able to participate

The outer areas represent the strategies that we are employing to achieve our objectives.  These include the provision of high-quality learning and teaching, creating a positive learning environment, ensuring that extended facilities are available for the students, working in partnership with other providers, intervening with individual students where necessary, tracking student performance, providing pastoral support for all students and ensuring that their social and emotional needs are met.

"Building Mind & Body"

Norden High School & Sports College has established a purposeful and caring atmosphere in which to ‘Build Mind and Body’. Within a pleasant, well-ordered and safe environment, we aim to do this by:

• Providing the highest quality of learning and teaching;
• Encouraging all pupils to achieve their maximum potential within and beyond school;
• Developing self-esteem, confidence and motivation;
• Building on individual strengths;
• Promoting enjoyment, health, fitness and well-being for all members of school and the wider community;
• Providing an effective partnership between school, parents and the wider community;
• Contributing to the development of economic well-being;
• Fostering the concept that education is for life.
