On Friday 7th October the whole of year 11's came in formal attire to attend their mock interviews.
A mock interview is a practice interview used for training purposes. The interview tries to resemble a real interview as close as possible, and provide valuable training to students for their post 16 - college/grammar/6th form/apprenticeship/job interviews.
A mock interview is one of the very best ways to prepare for an actual interview. The mock interview helps students to learn what is expected in a real interview, and how they can improve the way they present themselves.
In order to make the experience as realistic as possible we invited various business people and post 16 associates. Their role was to ask the students questions that they would be asked from actual employers and post 16 education providers.
In preparation for their interviews students were required to prepare and complete a curriculum vitae, an application form and a letter of application. These were then forwarded to the designated interviewer in preparation for mock interview day.
Students stated that they felt scared as they did not know what to expect but found the experience really helpful in developing their confidence for attending an interview.

Options At 16+ Evening
September 2011
For the upper school students there are difficult decisions that they have to make post 16. To assist them in their decision making process on what to study after they leave school, on Wednesday 28 September 2011 over 20 post 16 institutions arrived in Norden to advise our year 10 and 11 students on the different options available to them.
It was an informative evening for students and parents alike; it provides students with the relevant information they need in order to guide their studies and ultimately raise their aspirations.
